Drapery Measurement Guide
Streamline your curtain measurement process with our Measurement Guide, a guide created to walk you through each step seamlessly for a stress-free experience.
Scenario 1: Curtain Rod Is Already Installed
1. Measuring the Width
- Measurement Tip: Always measure the rod length, excluding the finials (the decorative ends).
- Fullness is Key: To achieve a rich, pleated look, we recommend a Fullness Ratio of 1.5x to 2x.Example: If your rod is 100", your total curtain width should be 150"–200".Note: Our products are sold by the flat width. The more width you buy, the more beautiful the folds will be.
2. Measuring the Height
- Starting Point: Measure from the bottom of the curtain rod to the floor.
- Style Adjustments: * Floor Length: Subtract 1/2" if you want the curtains to sit just above the floor.Puddling Look: Add 2"–4" if you want the fabric to pool elegantly on the ground.Note: If you use rings or hooks, remember to measure from the eyelet of the ring/hook for the most accurate height.
Scenario 2: Curtain Rod Not Installed
Mounting Height: Install the rod 8-10 inches above the window frame to make the ceiling feel taller.
Stacking Width: Extend the rod 8-10 inches wider on each side to make the window look larger and allow more light.
Pro Tip: Measure the final rod position, not the window itself, for the most accurate fit.
